Bondage Tape: What is it and tips for using

Bondage tape is honestly one of the most versatile and inexpensive bondage restraints you can buy. It comes in a multitude of colors and designs and can be used to restrict just about anything. It's extremely affordable and someone with zero bondage experience can make proper restraints in seconds.

People use it for full body bondage (mummification), beginner bondage, and even clothing making! You can buy tons of bondage tapes and store them in seconds. Plus, it looks like regular duct tape, so no one will question it when they see a roll of bondage tape lying around.

What is bondage tape?

Bondage tape is made of thin, smooth layers of PVC that adhere to themselves. The advantage of using PVC tape over regular duct tape is that bondage tape is reusable (with some care), bondage tape does not pull any fur or skin when removed, bondage tape does not leave sticky residue on the skin, has no smell or taste, and is available in a multitude of designs and colors (Basic black and red tend to be the easiest types to find.) and yet, bondage tape lacks the dull sheen of sticky tape that reminds you to wrap gifts.

Many people also love the fact that bondage tape doesn't have to leave marks. It may make the skin a little red from the heat, but after the tape is removed, it is possible that there will be no marks on the skin. Rope (especially) and other forms of restraints may not be able to do the same feat.

Tips for using bondage tape

Since all bondage tapes are made from the same material (PVC), you don't need to give too many tips. Almost all launches are quite similar but these tips can help you in some way...

Have the Length in mind: Pay attention to the length of each roll of tape. Most rolls are around 15/20 meters long. As long as you're not looking to do a full mummification with bondage tape, you should be fine with just a single roll of bondage tape.

Decide Usage: If you know what you want to do with the bondage tape, this is a great time to estimate how much bondage tape you will need. Find a string and wrap it 4 to 6 times where you want to tie it. Unroll this string and measure. This is the amount of bondage tape you will need to accomplish what you want.

Think about the cuts: Most rolls of masking tape don't come pre-cut. This allows you to cut the lengths that will work best for you, your body and the uses you want to use it for. So, when you get a roll of duct tape, remember that you're going to cut pieces of it. For example, trying to use the entire length just to tie your wrists is going to be a huge pile of duct tape on your partner's wrists.

Think about the Color: One of the biggest choices you'll make about your bondage tape will simply be the color. Red, pink, and black are the most common bondage tape roll options. You can find other color variations, but it will be more difficult. Which of these colors works best for you?

Don't worry too much: Almost all bondage tapes on the market are exactly the same. There's not much variation you can get. You also don't have to worry too much about buying from generic brands. Your biggest concern, in fact, will be how much to buy.
